Views on Addiction

By the time a person is aware or able to admit they are an addict, it’s usually the result of numerous hardships they’ve come to face, sucht he loss of income, employment, significant relationships, etc. The trouble with addiction is that many have a stereotypical idea of what an addict is,which means they might not always recognize addiction as an issue until it’s too late. People often look for losses or certain appearances to help them determine if they truly have an addiction problem or not. For example, folk shave become aware of the crack addict or needle using heroin addict as an example of an addict or the vicious drunk who insults everyone and wakes up to a bottle daily.

Creative Visualization Techniques

Visualization techniques are about making things happen in your life through mental imagery work. Your mind is a co-creator of events that are mentally designed in your mind. You can manifest almost anything you desire, as a result of visualization
With creative visualization you are using your mind to results or outcomes. You can create both negative and positive results, by simply programming your mind to belief specific self-designed scripts.  This script can become a life plan on how you will behave and carry out your dreams or fears.

Daily Self Care

Putting Yourself First

Remember when we travel, the instructions of an airline attendant, always reminding us to put on our own oxygen mask before we help anyone else with theirs.

Think of this advice as a metaphor for self-care because it so accurately expresses why it is important.

If you can't take care of yourself for yourself, do it for others.

Many situations in our daily lives mimic the wake-up call of an airplane emergency, so it's easy to keep putting self-care off. Until one day we get sick, overwhelmed, or exhausted, and then suddenly don't have the energy to care for others.

Creative Manifestations

Our mind is a weapon.  Its our greatest asset, as well as our greatest prison. With our mind we can create and destroy our lives, opportunities and overall happiness. Whatever we put into our minds creates realities both good and bad. What we belief we create.

It sounds scary. Well honestly, you should be scared. Because the key to your life is in your hands and no one else. The sad part is many of us don’t realize or even know how to make things happen. We read about the success of others and how awesome their lives are.

Mindfulness and creative manifestation

It is easy to become robotic and miss the fine details of our lives. We become so immersed into our daily routines that we do things automatically until something drastic happens and wakes us out of our zombie state.

The things that awaken us are often viewed as hardships or tragic events, usually because we only seem to become aware of things being bad once they are completely out of control. Case in point we look for work once we are fired. Get a divorce when someone is finally “caught” cheating.

Personal void and sense of security

Many times I'm inspired to write by what I encounter in many of my work or personal online group encounters with patients and even online pals. I get to witness the dilemmas of many folks at one time or another. I'll admit many times I sit, completely disconnected because I see the world so differently then many of the people I encounter...

Today the topic I witness was about feeling empty.

For starters I ran a group in which a few patients talked about having a void, an emptiness and a sense of an unfulfilled and incomplete life.
